Project Explanation

AVID 2 students will be writing a career research paper.  You will be interviewing someone in your chosen field and will combine this data with infromation you find in the library. Sources you will be using include: books, articles found in databases, and reliable websites.  You will use MLA format to create your works cited page.

    Find Books

    Click on Destiny to search for your specific career.  You will also find a resource lists of books on careers.  You are welcome to check these books out from the library. 

    Search the career ebook collection below. These books do not have to be checked out and can be accessed from any internet enabled computer. 


    Career ebooks

    Try the ebook widget for information on a wide range of interesting careers.  Type "careers" for a long list of books on many different careeers. You can also narrow your search to a specific career  ex.  "medical careers."


    Recommended Database

    Ferguson 's career  database is a  great sources of information on just about any career you can think of.  Each career search will list the following:

    • overview
    • history of
    • salary ranges
    • employment prospects & outlook
    • skills/personaity traits needed
    • work environment
    • Education/Training
    • Related School Subjects
