WWI - 2012 TIC-TAC-TOE PROJECT

Project Explanation

You and your partner must complete three projects from the following list. Choose consecutive topics.  Each project must have two cited reliable sources.  We will present these to the class.

TOPICS:

  • WWI   (Causes of the war, the home front, the actual fighting of the war)
  • Roaring 20’s  (The republican presidents, Prohibition, Scopes Monkey trial, Harlem renaissance, Women’s rights, Youth and Lost generation)
  • Great Depression  (The causes, the starts, the impact, Hoovervilles)
  • The New Deal  (Relief, Recovery, Reform, Critics of the new deal)
  • WWII  (Dictators, America Neutrality, D-day, Pearl Harbor, Tuskegee Airmen, Code talkers, Japanese Internment camps, U.S. Homefront, ect)
  • Cold War  (Communism, Truman Doctrine, HUAC, Roots of the Cold war)
  • U.S. Presidents
  • Vietnam War  (War with Kennedy, Nixon, Johnson, Domino Theory, Gulf of Tonkin, Tet offensive)
  • Civil Rights  ( MLK, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Montgomery bus boycott, March on Washington, Little Rock, Sit-ins, Freedom Summer, Freedom Rides, Women’s liberation movement, American Indian Movement, Hispanic American Movement)
  • If you think of something else that you would like to create a project about from the periods 1910-2012 it must be checked off  by teachers  before you begin work on the project.   

Products of your research include: board games, skits, pamphlets (check Microsoft Word or Publisher for templates), collages, timelines, raps, songs, children's books (we have sample picture books), or posters.
