Assignment

This budget planning research project is designed to introduce you to the real world of creating and living within a budget. The project will require that you think, reason, and act as if you are in the real world. (You have gotten the official Boot from Mom and Dad - see Reality Check Movie)

It will require you to make informed, intelligent estimates of your expenses; the accuracy of your budget plan depends on these factors.

This project should be realistic and reflect your spending habits/lifestyle. If you don't shop at Wal-Mart now, don't assume you will for this project. This project will require quite a bit of time outside of class to research and complete. Be prepared to travel around the community to collect information. You will be determining and calculating your monthly income and monthly expenses.

Assumptions

For planning purposes, we are assuming you have finished college or applicable schooling (trade/technical school), and are entering the real work force. We are assuming you are living on your own (sorry, no roommates want to live with you) and paying your own bills. You are not married and have no children.
